Abstract
173,967. Staines Motor Co., Ltd., and Clark, H. H. Dec. 23, 1920. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Tool-holders; turrets.-A shank a for attachment to a slide-rest &c. has a circular conical socket b to receive the similarly-shaped turret c carrying the required tools secured in pockets d by screws. A central hole in the turret is tapped to take screws g the end of which is keyed in a milled head h and secured by a nut. By turning the head clockwise, Fig. 3, the screw g is rotated so that the head f<1> moves downwards and slackens the turret in the socket to allow it to be adjusted to bring the desired tool into the working position which is determined by spring pins m engaging recesses in the socket. The head is then rotated in the opposite direction to draw the turret into the socket. The head has a projection o fitting in a groove in the socket to exclude dust &c.
