532. Ericsson, E. W. Jan. 8. Turning.-A tool-holder for use in machine tools, particularly in lathes for making screws, in which the work has an axial as well as a rotary motion is provide with a block b for carrying the tool e, which is pivoted on a screw c and is pressed upwards by a spring h, against the resistance caused by the rotation of the work, to move the tool out of contact when the work is completed. The extent of angular motion is varied by a screw k passing through an elongated opening in the tool-holder.
