Abstract

Turning.-A lathe turret for use upon the slide-rest of any ordinary lathe has an outer portion 1 and an inner portion 4 pivoted together with conical surfaces and tightened by a handle 6. The inner portion 4 passes over the pin 10 of the slide-rest and has tapering depressions to accommodate a spring pin 2, the depth of the depressions increasing in the direction of movement. The blocks 3<a> against which the tool-holders are clamped are milled out to give a good bearing - surface and the tools are mounted eccentrically in their sockets 9 so that they may be adjusted vertically.
