Abstract

173,354. Taylor, J. E. Oct. 11, 1920. Sliding-jaw wrenches; jaw faces.-In wrenches of the kind having jaws formed with V- shaped recesses to engage the sides of a nut, the movable jaw is slidably mounted on an extension of the stationary jaw and held in adjusted position by a nut on the threaded extremity of the stationary jaw extension. The wrench comprises a stationary jaw 1 and a movable jaw 2, said jaws being recessed at 3 to V-shape in cross-section and provided with substantially rectangular shank extensions 4, 6 slidable one on the other. The shank 6 is guided on the shank 4 by means of a clip 8 at one end and a head 7 at the other, which head is adapted to be engaged by the nut 9 threading on the screwed extremity 5 of the shank 4.
