Abstract

196,135. Pocock, W. Aug. 15, 1922. Pivoted-jaw wrenches; pin wrenches; jaw faces.- A wrench adapted to grip tightly on milled or slotted nuts is formed of a handle b integral with a jaw a formed with a knife edge c and a pivoted jaw g also formed with a knife edge f the parts a, b g being formed of flat metal. The movable jaw g is bent as indicated at d<1>, Fig. 3, so as to cause the knife edges c, f to lie in the same plane. The jaws are connected adjustably by a screw pivotpin e, which is passed through holes h, j on the jaws. A smooth nut may be grooved or bored to receive the knife edges c, f which grip the nut tightly when rotated in a counter-clockwise direction.
