Rigid - jaw wrenches; jaw faces.-A wrench for pipes, nuts, &c. is formed from a strip a of material one end of which serves as a handle while the other end c is curved to form a gradually narrowing mouth d, the extremity b being roughened or serrated at b<1> to provide a gripping- surface opposite the sliding surface c<1>. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, a rotary pinion b<2> is provided on the head b instead of serrating it. The surface c<1> may be provided with a series of curved or straight faces c<2> separated by steps e, as shown in Fig. 6, the head b being similarly formed with faces b<3>.
