Abstract
172,610. Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken. Dec. 4, 1920, [Convention date]. Crucibles and melting-pots; alloys.-Apparatus for handling or wording molten glass is made of a metal or alloy having a high melting-point, not evolving gas when heated and forming an adherent and insoluble coating of oxide which protects it from attack by molten glass. Alloys of chromium or aluminium with iron, cobalt, and nickel are mentioned. Alloys of 60 per cent iron with 40 per cent chromium and also 85 per cent iron with 15 per cent chromium in particular are suggested.
