Abstract

171,782. Young, A. Aug. 23, 1920. Addition to 127,488. Alternating-current induction machines; highfrequency machines.-In an alternating-current dynamo-electric machine comprising a rotating and a stationary disc mounted side by side and provided with coils connected to condensers, as described in the parent Specification, the two ends of the coils 1<1> on the rotating disc 1 are connected to the condenser 10 through a commutator 3, 4 and brushes 8, 9. The coils 2<1> of the stationary disc 2 are connected through a transformer 12 to the condenser 10. The commutator consists of two concentric brass rings 3, 4 with teeth 3<1>, 4<1>. On the rings 3, 4 bear two brushes 5, 6 connected to a condenser 7. The brushes 8, 9 are arranged at a distance, apart just greater than the width of a tooth. The coils 1<1> and 2<1> may be connected in parallel instead of in series. The condenser 7 may be omitted. The stationary coils 2<1> may comprise primary and secondary coils and the current to be utilized taken from the secondary coils.
