169,915. Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd., (Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Co.). Nov. 4, 1920. Regulating transformers.-In a transformer having a number of low-tension coils, the connections of which are varied for voltage regulation, the impedances of the low-tension coils are equalized by magnetic means. In the arrangement shown, high-tension windings 5, 6 are placed on each leg of the core, each of the high-tension windings being mounted between two low-tension windings 7, 8 or 9, 10. All the low-tension windings have the same number of turns, and they may' be connected in series, in parallel or in series-parallel according to the voltage desired. The impedances of the low-tension coils are equalized by placing strips 11, 12 of magnetic material between the high-tension winding and the inner low-tension winding on each leg of the core.
