Abstract

169,341. Molins, W. E. July 21, 1920. Pile tables and supports for sheet feeds; separators. - Relates to a machine for folding box slide blanks, filling them if required with cigarettes, and inserting the folded (and filled) slides into shells which are fed from a magazine in collapsed form and opened or set up by the machine. Slide blanks 2, Figs. 1 and 4 are removed from the bottom of a magazine by a pusher tooth 12 on a reciprocating table 7, and fed by rollers 13 to plates 14 which bend up the long edges. The table is reciprocated by an eccentric and connecting rod driven from the spindle of one of the rollers 13, and is supported on rollers; a spring holds the table pressed on the rollers. The folded shells are stored in a magazine 27, and are fed towards the conveyer by similar means to that employed for feeding the slides.
