Abstract

384,322. Making boxes. AKTIEBOLAGET G. AREHNS MEKANISKA VERKSTAD, 20, Alstr÷mergatan, Stockholm. April 29, 1931, No. 27189/32. Convention date, April 30, 1930. Divided on 385,628. [Class 18.] In a machine for making the drawers of drawer-and-shell boxes comprising an endless chain having compartments into which the folded drawers are pushed for transfer to the filling station &c., means are provided for supporting the blank against the forming die during the complete shaping operation and entry of the folded drawer into a compartment of the chain. As shown, the base of each compartment 47 of the chain has four openings 53 through which pins 52 carried on a vertically movable head 55 pass to support the blank a against the die 26 as the latter forces the blank through the folding frame 54 into the compartment 47 ; the pins may be slidably mounted in the head 55 and controlled by springs 56. The blanks are fed from a magazine 9, the lowermost blank being pulled down by an oscillating suction head 11 and taken from the head by reciprocating spring grippers 34 by which it is pulled under the die 26.
