Abstract
169,242. Bishop, A. J. June 18, 1920. Hand-trucks.-In hand-trucks having two front wheels on a fixed axle and two swivelling- rollers or castors at the rear so that the truck may be used as a two-wheeled or a four-wheeled vehicle, the rear wheels are separately and pivotally mounted in a bracket, a purchase lip is pivoted to the truck body, and a rear auxiliary handle is adapted to be folded on to the frame. The side members a carry the axle e<1> of the front wheels e, and also forked brackets k in which swivel the stems of forked brackets g carrying the rear wheels f. The front purchase lip p is pivoted at r and adapted to be held in operative position by a pawl t engaging a catchpin r<1> thereon, on release of which the lip may be folded on to the platform. The auxiliary folding handle s is hinged on its turned-in ends s<1> in bearings in the frames a, off-sets z allowing it to fold on to the platform.
