Abstract
278,082. Allen, R. E. H. June 30, 1926. Springs, arrangement of, and mounting undercarriages on; safety wheels; underframes: sledges.-A telescopie draw bar 1 is universally pivoted to the front axle 4 or to the front of the frame and is connected bv links 9, 11, 15, 17, 16 with the front wheels 13 and by links 18, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 30, 29 with the swivelling rear wheels 28. The lengths are such that the wheels are moved through half the angle moved bv the draw bar. The frame A. Fig. 6, may be underslung and supported by semielliptic springs 33. To support the vehicle in case the road wheels sink in soft ground transverse rollers 40<x> may be fitted to the frame near the axles. The sides 40 of the body may be hinged so as to turn down on to the ground to act as ramps for loading purposes. The shape of the frame A allows of the use of the vehicle as a toboggan.
