Return-tube boilers; feed-water, supplying; partitions in water space.-A steam drum G placed above a two-flue return-tube boiler projects beyond the front of the boiler and is placed in communication with the boiler at its rear end through a single connection H. The feed-pipes P project forwardly in the drum towards the downtake pipes L, which place the drum in communication with the lower part of the boiler. A curved deflector 0 is fitted in the drum over the rear connection H.
