168,900. Akt.-Ges. Brown, Boveri, et Cie. Sept. 9, 1920, [Convention date] Regulating. - A device to prevent excessive pressure in the interior of steam or gas turbines and to limit the maximum power-output thereof comprises a pressure - responsive device which is adapted, when a certain pressure in the turbine is reached, to close the turbine inlet valves. The pressure-responsive device consists of a piston b, the upper side of which is subjected to the pressure in the interior of the turbine, and the lower side to a spring c, which is adjustable by a set-screw d so as to regulate the pressure at which the piston is to be lowered. The piston b has a spindle e connected to a slide f, which on its downward movement uncovers the port k, permitting pressure oil from the inlet valve system to escape by the pipe h, and the inlet valve to close.
