757,346. Fluid-actuated valves. ENCLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Oct. 8, 1954 [Oct. 14, 1953], No. 28326/53. Class 135. A pressure-responsive valve device, e.g. for cutting off the fuel to a gas turbine upon failure of lubricating oil pressure, has a relief valve 5 with a small area exposed to the pressure of the fluid to be controlled in the chamber 3 for opening the valve and a large area exposed to the pressure of a controlling fluid for closing the valve, e.g. inside the bellows 6 which acts as a spring loading the valve. The inside of the bellows is connected to lubricating oil pressure at 7 and at 14 via a spring-loaded ball valve 12 , to the lubricating oil sumps. The gas turbine connected at 2<SP>1</SP> is supplied with fuel from a pump connected at 2. Should the lubricating oil pressure fail or the fuel pressure increase above a certain value, the valve 5 is lifted to by-pass fuel through the pump inlet at 10 and a valve pin 15 then opens the ball 12 to exhaust the lubricating oil pressure.
