Abstract

197,673. Akt.-Ges. Brown, Boveri, et Cie. May 13, 1922, [Convention date]. Valves controlled by pilot or relay valves.-The regulating valve o for use in a turbine installation is actuated by a piston subjected to oil pressure supplied by a pump through a valve k adjusted by a centrifugal governor i. To obviate too great a load on the low-pressure turbine, the oil under the piston q of the valve o may be allowed to escape by way of a small valve t', which is opened by excessive pressure in the pipe h acting on a diaphragm s, the valve o being thereupon closed.
