Dynamos and motors, cooling.-In a ventilated dynamo-electric machine, a chamber 2 is located below and secured to the machine so as to be adapted to be removed with the machine and its bearings as an integral unit from the foundations, the chamber containing an air washer and cooler. The machine, as shown, is provided with fan members 7 at each end for maintaining the circulation, and corrugated plates 10 are arranged in the return channels 5 to trap any moisture carried by the air. A screen 12 is preferably stretched across the lower part of the chamber to prevent splashing.
