Warps, balling. - In quick-traverse warp-balling machines or cross-ballers wherein the slide or support d, Figs. 1 and 2, for the yarn guide e is traversed by a cross-threaded screw c engaging a die j carried by the support d, each end of the screw is provided with a spring m having a curl r to receive a set-screw, these springs aiding in the reversal of movement of the slide d under the action of radial surfaces 14. The slide d has a slotted projection t engaging a square or other rod v, the reduced threaded ends of which are adjusted in circular slots x and are secured by nuts w. The slots x lead to square or other holes y to permit the insertion of the rod. One or both ends of the rod may be tapped to receive set-screws. The yarn guide comprises a slotted adjustable guiding-plate 3, a rod 8 adjustable to bear on the yarn, and an adjustable slotted guideplate 10.
