Class 120(2) A plurality of threads are wound on one bobbin after passing through a guide that reciprocates in front of the bobbin and includes an apertured member rotatable in a housing to generate a false twist in the threads that periodically changes direction. A traversing thread guide 1 has a toothed wheel 8 provided with holes through which threads pass to a spool 11. The wheel 8 is rotated by a rack 10 and the false twist imparted changes direction at each change of direction of the rack 10. The rotational movement of the wheel 8 is independent of the reciprocatory movemerit of the thread guide 1. Instead of the toothed wheel 8, a roller or pulley may be moved by a push rod.
