Magneto - electric machines. - A magneto is provided with rotary laminated magnetic polar extensions in sliding contact with the pole-shoes, the laminµ being carried in a non-magnetic sleeve surrounding the rotor and fitting closely between the faces of the poleshoes. The laminµ 5 forming the exten. sions of the laminated pole-shoes 2 of the magnet 1 ara carried in apertures in a cast brass or other non-magnetic cylindrical sleeve 4 which fits a bore in the poleshoes and the framing. The outer and inner surfaces of the laminµ 5 are accurately turned or ground to fit the pole-pieces, and the sleeve, which may carry a contact-breaker at one end, may be provided with an operating-lever for timing.
