Abstract

Spray carburettors.-In carburettors having two or more nozzles supplied with different fuels, for example, paraffin and petrol, from separate float chambers and discharging into a single choke tube receiving an axial stream of air, the outlet 15, 16 of each nozzle is such as to discharge into the choke tube 18 a stream of fuel, the direction of which is inclined towards the outlet and towards the through axis of the choke tube. The nozzles are supplied from float chambers 2, 3 which, together with the induction pipe 17, are secured to a base 1 consisting of a bar with three circular portions. Air enters the choke tube through openings 20, 21. The induction pipe and choke tube are tapered and cut away to accommodate the nozzles. The nozzle passages determine the proportion of the fuels delivered; two of paraffin to one of petrol being mentioned as an advantageous mixture. The float chambers have flanged covers 25 secured by spring strips 26.
