Incrustation, preventing.-A disincrustant for steam boilers comprises crude pyrolignious acid and for acetates or pyrolignites of alkali or alkaline earths, carbonate of soda and arsenious anhydride. A suitable mixture contains, in aqueous solution, 20-40 per cent of crude pyroligneous acid or 3 to 6 per cent acetates or pyrolignites of alkali or alkaline earths, 10-30 per cent soda and 0.5-1.5 per cent arsenious anhydride.
