Abstract

162,245. Alexander, J. Jan. 21, 1920. Line-locking devices.-In connection with a universal bar 5 operated by type-levers, a linelocking lever 9 adapted to be interposed at its lower end behind a shoulder 12 of the universal bar is pivoted to the type-lever segment 4 and projects at its upper end into the path of the margin stop 14, a spring 10 normally holding the lever against a stop 11 clear of the shoulder 12. To provide a release, the upper end 13 of the lever 9 is pivoted and pressed rearwards by a spring 16, and can be pressed forwards out of alignment with the margin stop by a finger 19 on a rockshaft 17 actuated through connections 21, 23, 24 from a key.
