Line-bocking devices.-Stoparms c<1>, c are secured to a shaft b which can rock and move longitudinally in brackets a, a<1> on the framework, and is provided with a wedge i adapted to enter a ring f connected to an arm g of the universal-bar mechanism h. When a stop k on the carriage engages the stop-arm c<1>, the shaft is moved to the left and the wedge enters and lifts the ring, the universal bar being thereby locked. The shaft is rocked by means of a lever j to release the stop-arm c<1>. The carriage can then travel until the stop k has moved the stop-arm c into contact with a stop k<1>, whereupon the universal bar is again locked. A returning spring d for the shaft is secured to the bracket a and an adjustable collar e.
