Abstract

Regulating.-The invention relates to devices of the kind described in the parent Specification wherein a charge is accumulated in a box separated from the engine cylinder by a suction-actuated valve, and consists mainly in arranging the valve so that, apart from its weight, it is operated solely by the fluid-pressure differences on its two sides. The construction shown in Fig. 1 corresponds with that of Fig. 1 of the parent Specification. The delivery valve DV, shown enlarged in Fig. 2, is merely a thin metal plate which, under pressure from below, closes the lower end of the passage J<1>. The construction shown in Fig. 5 resembles that shown in Fig. 4 of the parent Specification, wherein a piston valve FSP, operated by a suction-actuated piston P connected to the induction pipe of the engine, controls the distribution of the mixture in a multicylinder engine; but in this case a single chargeaccumulating box B encloses the regulating- means B, FSP, and supplies more than one cylinder.
