Abstract

159,061. Schroeder, G. Dec. 5, 1919. Dynamos and motors, cooling.-The rotor-cooling system of a dynamo-electric machine is kept separate from the stator system, and the cooling is effected by means of a gas which has undergone refrigeration and is supplied preferably under pressure. Fig. 1 shows a closed system, the gas passing from the refrigeration chamber through ducts E to an admission chamber F and through axial passages J in the rotor to the outlet chamber G, and thence by the duct H to the refrigerating-chamber. Alternatively, the chamber G is dispensed with and the rotor air passes into the stator system as shown in Fig. 5.
