Cores and carcass structures.-The frames of polyphase machines are constructed of sheet metal stampings, two or more shells having internally projecting webs constituting an annular space into which fits the core of magnetic stampings and the tightening-rings. Fig. 2 shows two shells MDN, MEN into which the stampings T and rings a', a<2> are fitted, the shells being secured together by rivets r<1>, r<2>. The extremities f<1>, f<4> of the frame are turned down so that the parts p<1> - - p<4> form a support for the rotor bearing concentric with the stator bore.
