Abstract

334,238. Kalber, H. H. May 30, 1929. Casings; cores and carcass structures.-In an electric motor of the. type in which the laminations 4 are. held between rings 5 and the whole is surrounded by a sheet metal casing 1, the rings 5 and casing 1 interlock to prevent axial motion of the rings. This may be effected by means of grooves 6 in the rings 5 with which engage ribs 3 or projections formed on the casing 1, or by means of grooves on both the rings 5 and on the casing with which engage separate rings. Screws 7 secure the casing to rings 7. The grooves and projections may be V-shaped so as to produce a wedging-action to compress and secure the laminae.
