Abstract

494,601. Motor casings. MATHER & PLATT, Ltd., and ALVEY, G. B. June 24, 1937, No. 17577. [Class 35] In a submersible squir rel cage motor having a non-magnetic metallic air gap sleeve enclosing the stator windings, end caps are fitted over the portions of the rotor bars which project be yond the end of the core. In the form shown the rotor f of a pump motor is subjected tc the action of water and has end caps g enclosing the end rings i and the ends of the bars k, the caps g and the air gap sleeve b being of stainless non-magnetic steel. The stator windings are surrounded by oil e their enclosure being completed by rings c.
