Abstract

Plug couplings and connectors. - A cable connector for a threecore lead from a carlighting dynamo, but applicable also to twocore leads comprises two insulating members a, h containing socket and plug contacts g, a<1> respectively. The lower member h is mounted in the dynamo yoke so that it is free to turn, sufficient slack being provided in the dynamo leads (not shown). The upper member a is formed on its upper surface with a central groove to receive the cable, from which the armouring has been removed, and with two smaller grooves lying parallel with the central one into which the separate cores are led, two in one and one in the other. The conductors are sweated into the plug contacts a<1> which lie under these grooves. The device is secured to the dynamo yokes by means which enable the cable to be led off at any required angle. A cover b for the block a presses upon the rubber insulation of the cable, which passes out through an opening in the side of the cover. It is secured to the yoke by a base flange b<3> with which is engaged by a ring e, fixed by screws to the yoke, to clamp the parts after they have been adjusted to the required angle. An alternative fixing means consists of a cage superfixed on the ccver b having an extended side opening for the cable to permit the connector to be rotationally adjusted.
