Abstract

An adhesive composition is made from waste sulphite cellulose lye by neutralizing the liquid with slaked lime, concentrating the filtrate until a sample sets on cooling, and then adding a heavy mineral oil in such quantity that a further sample remains liquid on cooling. The resulting liquid is of use as a binder in the manufacture of briquettes of coal and ore. Specifications 20460/13 and 157,908, [both in Class 82 (i), Metals, Extracting &c.], are referred to.
