Directing and adjustably supporting endless belt and chain conveyers and elevators; portable conveyers and elevators; buffers and springs applied to. - A loading- machine comprises an endless-chain gathering bucket conveyer mounted on a turntable on which is pivotally supported also the delivery belt conveyer. The turntable 16, Fig. 4, is supported by anti-friction rollers 15 on a bed-plate 11 which has an upstanding flange 23 toothed externally and extending into a recess in the turntable. The teeth 26 are engaged by a pinion 27 on a shaft 28 carried by the turntable and driven through worm gearing by a motor 32. The boom 37 of the conveyer 38 is supported at its upper end by a shaft 42 which is mounted in standards 40 secured to the turntable and at its lower end the boom is supported by a shaft 45 which is carried by sliding bearings 46 in yokes 43 pivoted to extensions of the turntable. A pair of motors 52 drive a divided shaft 55, the sections of which are geared to the shaft 42. The driving-shaft 51 of the conveyer is geared to the shaft 42. The boom 63 of the delivery conveyer 60, Fig. 1, is supported at its lower end by a shaft 66 mounted in standards 67 on a turntable 68 which is carried by the turntable 16. At its upper end the boom is supported from an extension 75 of the standards 40 by rope tackle 81. and a pivoted bale 77. The conveyer 60 is driven through chain-and-sprocket gearing by a motor 83 suspended from the boom 63. The hopper 90 which is placed between the gathering and delivery conveyers is provided with a detachable liner 92.
