Abstract

Screw motors; regulating; working-fiuid supply. -The rotor of an hydraulic turbine with screw blades is provided with an adjustable perforated disk to vary the size of the outlet openings. The inlet is regulated by an adjustable concentric hollow cylinder in the inlet cylinder having a registering opening. A helical directing-vane is fixed in the inlet. The rotor m is of truncated conical form, but may be cylindrical, and carries helical vanes n and also a perforated disk o to which it is adjustably connected by spring-pressed pins q entering pairs of several recesses u in the rotor. To adjust the size of the outlet openings of the rotor when the turbine is stopped, the disk o is rotated by depressing a shaft u<1> against the action of a spring x to cause a pinion v to engage with teeth o<1> on the rim of the disk o. Rotation of a hand-wheel v<2> causes rotation of the perforated disk o relativelv to the rotor, and thus varies the size of the outlet openings of the rotor. A hollow cylindrical portion e with an opening e<1> registering with the inlet b is rotated to regulate the size of the inlet by operating a hand-wheel f<2> to actuate a pinion f meshing with internal teeth on the hollow cylinder e. A helical guide vane h fixed in the inlet may be fixed to the hollow cylinder e, or may be formed integral with it.
