Saddles; saddle supports.-Relates to the kind of combined saddle and saddle support for motor and other cycles, which, when detached from the machine, can be opened out to form a threelegged occasional seat, piano stool, &c. According to the invention, the rear end of the saddle top is supported by two pairs of obliquely disposed springs c<7>, c<8> upon rods b sliding in a flexible base member c', and the peak is supported by a single pair of springs c<4>, c<5> similarly mounted on a sliding rod c<3>, the member c<1> being provided with a U-shaped rod d or a slotted plate to engage detachably with a lug e* on the head of the seat pillar and to take a slotted clip f with screws f<1>, f<3> whereby the saddle is adjusted angularly; the front leg d<2> of the tripod pillar is in one with the head d* and the other legs d<3> hook into slots d<5> in this head, the base consisting of two inverted trough-shaped members e and a two-part springy member e<xx> which is adapted to fold into the members e. Auxiliary means for preventing the legs from spreading consists of a ring d<7> which may engage with the head or with lugs d<6> on the two legs. U-shaped blade springs may be used in place of the helical springs c<4>, c<8>, and a pair of adjusting-screws f<3>, one on each side of the central plane of the apparatus, may be employed.
