Abstract

186,423. Arnoldy, N. June 28, 1921. School desks; desk frames and adjustments.- A combined desk and seat for school use &c., wherein the desk is adjustable simultaneously in height and horizontally relatively to the seat, is supported by a frame comprising legs 3, 3<1>, 4, 4<1> jointed together at 22, 22', the legs 3, 3<1> being pivoted at their upper ends 5, 5<1> on the front portion of the desk and slidably connected therewith at the points 15, 15', while their lower ends are slidably mounted in grooves 9, 9' in the base and pivoted thereto at the points 14, 14'. Adjustment is effected by turning a hand-wheel mounted on a screw with right and left handed screwed portions 16', 16 which engage nuts 17, 17<1> connected to cross-members 19, 19<1> by radial screws 20.
