Abstract

Motors, controlling.-A mechanical brake 5 acting on the shaft of an electric motor and a switch 13 are simultaneously operated through a lever 4 connected to an armature 2 which is drawn into a recess in the field-magnet pole 1 when the field winding is energized. In a modification, the lever 4 carries a contact which engages with the contacts of a resistance switch to cut out the resistance in the armature circuit.
