Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-A liquid-fuel injector comprises a plunger carrying a piston 21 which slides in a chamber open to the combustion space through longitudinal passages x. The plunger is actuated in one direction by the pressure of the air in the cylinder, and is returned by a spring 18 bearing upon the piston 21. Fuel is drawn into the chamber 22 through a valve 23, and is forced into the combustion space through a longitudinal duct in the plunger.
