1529445 Tamper-indicating closures J H KARLAN 9 Oct 1975 20413/78 Divided out of 1529444 Heading B8T A closure 10 has an outer wall 14 extended by a skirt 19 joined to the wall 14 via a severable junction 20, skirt 19 including an inner groove 24 to engage bead 21 on the bottle and an external annular shoulder 33, the arrangement being such that on application of the closure to the bottle skirt 19 is stretched axially by a capping tool applied to shoulder 33, Fig. 5 (not shown), to engage groove 24 with bead 21. The provision of a weakened area 28 for relief of bottle pressure above a preselected value is the subject of Specification 1,529,444.
