Abstract

1389108 Pilferproof closures COCO-COLA CO 1 June 1972 [1 June 1971] 25739/72 Heading B8T A locking band 5 (engaging an annular bead on a bottle neck) is connected to the annular bulge 4 of the cap skirt 3 by bridges 7 separated from one another by alternating long and short slots 6 and 11 the locking band 5 comprising vertical lines of weakness below the short slots 11. The vertical lines of weakness comprise discontinuous slots 10 (or notches) which may intersect the slots 11. The skirt 3 may be deformed on to the bottle neck by means of a roller to form a screw-thread at the same time as the locking band is turned under the bottle bead by a further roller; alternatively the cap and bottle may have cam surfaces or angled lugs instead of screw-threads.
