Abstract
1504622 Dirt separation in fibre feed H HERGETH [trading as HERGETH KG MASCHINENFABRIK UND APPARATEBAU] 18 April 1975 [1 June 1974] 15998/75 Heading D1N An apparatus for feeding cotton flock to a processing machine has a hopper 3 fed by a conveyor 1 and beneath which an inclined apertured shaker plate 4 is located and vibrated by a shaker device 5 to throw off dirt adhering to the flocks, an output conveyor 6 being provided to remove cleaned fibre flock. The shaker plate is inclined at between 30‹ and 75‹. The apertures in the shaker plate may be circular, elongate or ablique and may be formed between a series of grate bars 11 having an acute-angled or triangular profile. The shaking device may be eccentrics at either end of the shaker plate or an eccentric driven by a motor mounted in the middle of the plate. A rack and pinion may be employed to adjust the inclination of the shaker plate, Fig. 2 (not shown).
