Abstract

1,104,716. Disintegrating-machines. CENTRIBLAST CORPORATION. 29 June, 1965 [10 July, 1964], No. 27419/65. Heading B2A. A machine for disintegrating paper and other waste materials comprises a feed drum 14 formed by a series of spaced toothed discs and a disintegrator drum 30 formed by a series of spaced discs 33 staggered relative to the discs of the drum 14 and having projections or blades 34, material to be disintegrated being fed to the drum 14 by means of endless belts 9, 10 driven at the same speed from the drum 14 which is driven at a lower speed than the drum 30. Further disintegrator drums 42, 46 may be provided. Combs 13a, 49 or 56, 57 are provided to dislodge fragments of material from the drums 14, 30. Disintegrated material is discharged into a receptacle 40. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the projections of the disintegrator drum are hinged thereto. In a further modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), one or both feed belts, which are driven at different speeds, are provided with spikes and the disintegrator and feed drums are partly surrounded by a screen and casing respectively.
