Abstract
150,393. Kapferer, H. May 26, 1919. Bodics; trailers.-The downwardly-bent arms a<2> of the chassis of a trailer for automobiles &c. are removably and pivotally secured by means of a pin f between the cheeks of channel-brackets g fixed to the rear transverse chassis member of the automobile &c. The brackets g are secured to channel irons h, i which surround the rear chassis member. The trailer may be supported on a castor wheel or castor-wheels k each carried by a fork l the stem m of which is resiliently mounted in a bracket r secured to the chassis of the trailer. Vertical movement of the fork is controlled by a spring p abutting at its lower end against a shoulder m<1> on the stem m, and at its upper end against the bracket r. The chassis of the trailer may consist of a U-shaped frame of bent wood, or of two side members connected by a transverse member. The body may comprise side panels with doors e, a front panel and a rear semi-circular panel, or the body may be replaced by a seat fixed on a platform with a water-proof cover carried by uprights.
