Abstract

616,466. Vehicle body mountings. DURAMIN ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and OGLETHORPE, E. L. Sept. 4, 1946, No. 26595. [Class 108 (ii)] The driver's cab of a road vehicle is secured to the chassis at two points at the forward end and at a single point at the rear, the rear suspension point being formed by a fore-andaft pivot 7 about which the cabs can move relative to the chassis, means being provided for resiliently limiting the extent of this movement. The pin 7 passes through a lug depending from a cab frame member 9 and through a friction bush in the bore of a bracket 6 secured to a chassis member 3. The ends of the member 3 are held between upper and lower rubber discs 12 which are mounted between washers 13 on an eye-bolt 11 which hangs from brackets 10 on the cab. The pin 7 is disposed so that the cab is laterally balanced about it.
