Abstract
994,054. Road vehicle suspensions. EATON AXLES Ltd. March 26, 1962, No. 30157/64. Divided out of 994,053. Heading B7D. The control arm E of an axle A associated with a suspension unit D is connected to a hanger bracket F by means of a pin 124 upon which is slidable a sleeved bush 121, the bracket F comprising an end wall 129, side walls 130 and 131, and a cap 132 by means of which and by means of a horizontal member 126 the pin 124 is retained. A modified form of rubber bush connection is shown in Fig. 4 and the suspension device is described in connection with front and rear axles and in connection with a modified form of suspension arm, Fig. 5. In a tandem axle construction, Figs. 7 and 9, a swinging arm E is connected to a bracket F by means of the spherical rubberbushed joint shown in Fig. 9, the arm E also being connected to a suspension unit D and to a balance beam 160 upon which the axles 161 are mounted.
