Abstract
929,171. Mounting control cabs. DAIMLERBENZ A.G. April 10, 1962 [April 25, 1961], No. 13846/62. Class 108(2). The front steering cab 1 of a commercial motor vehicle is suspended resiliently from the frame 2 of the vehicle by means of two rubber mountings 4 of low resilience disposed at the front of the cab and a soft leaf, helical, torsion bar or pneumatic spring at the rear of the cab, e.g. a torsion bar 5 secured by a portion 6 to a member 7 mounted on the cab and by a pair of levers 12 fixed to the torsion bar and slidable backwards and forwards in guides 14 attached to the frame 2. An abutment 9 fixed to the part- 6 of the torsion bar 5 may be adjusted by a screw 8 to preset the tension of the torsion bar. Each outer end of the bar 5 is mounted on the cab in a bearing 11 which incorporates a housing 15 which contains a vane 16 having a throttle orifice which serve as hydraulic vibration dampers.
