Abstract

150,364. Arschauloff, W. Feb. 12, 1918. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-Fuel is supplied through a pipe 14 to a cavity 10 in the injector and is forced into the cylinder against the pressure on the spring- loaded valve 1 by a plunger 7 the upper side of which communicates with the combustion chamber, while the lower side is subject to air pressure which is sufficient to raise the plunger during the engine's exhaust stroke. The spring 21 may be flat instead of helical, and the valve may be kept closed by an additional spring the effect of which is removed during the injection period.
