Abstract
150,126. Burton, H. June 23, 1919. Post files.-The base-plate of a lever arch file is grooved for strengthening. The lever 8 is mounted on a tongue 2 which is struck up from a slot 15 in base-plate 1, and the blade spring 7 associated with the lever 8 for controlling the arch members 5 is accommodated in a slot 16. Grooves 9 are formed in the base-plate and extend from a longitudinal groove 8<a> into the tongue 2, and angularly disposed grooves 10, 11 connect the groove 8<a> with a groove 12 running along the edge of the base-plate and extending across the connecting part 4 between the slots 15, 16 on which the spring 7 bears. When the slots 15, 16 intersect, the grooves 10, 11 extend across the two pointed projections so formed. In a modification, the grooves 8<a>, 12 are connected by parallel transverse grooves, and V-shaped grooves extend from these into the connecting-part 4.
