Rope grips. - A rope grip of the type having two jaws h, j forced together to grip the rope by a sliding collar a which is held fast by a cotter or wedge b' passing through slots in the jaws, has the wedge pivoted on or attached to the jaw h by a pin c passing through a slot in the wedge. The slot in the jaw h is formed with an extension g in which the wedge can lie when it is drawn out, to allow the collar to be sslipped up over the wedge and the shanks of the jaws. The jaws are positioned relatively to each other by means of a pin e.
