Abstract

141,433. Cloudesley, O. Jan. 15, 1919. Stirrups.-Relates to stirrups having the side open and the suspension lug so positioned that the lower portion of the stirrup-leather can be engaged with it without being twisted. The lug A<4> is formed so that it projects to a greater distance forwardly of the plane of the stirrup than rearwardly. By this means, when the stirrup is not in use, it tends to hang so that it can always be readily found by the foot of the user. The crosssections of the bow A<1> and tread A<2> is T-shaped, longitudinal slots A<5>, A<6> being formed through the tread, one slot on each side of the rib A<3>.
